Speculative Design

Miller’s drama is constantly found recreating a parallel dimension where present and past come into contact and collide with each other, often revealing the truth and sometimes modifying it. The place where the main scenes take place is the Loman house, where Willy remembers all the events that have characterized his life so far.

The scene represents the Loman house as it can be guessed from the armchair and the semi-functional television that are located under the second platform and represent Willy’s American dream.

To dominate the scene the fragmented screen that stands as a double of the mind of the protagonist, that often fragments, breaks,  disconnects and does not allow us to guess the complete truth of the facts.

The whole set and the house itself become almost like a kind of prison.
