“The Tempest” is a play that takes in consideration the different structure of powers between the social classes together with the themes of Magic, Family and Forgiveness.
The design is set in a contemporary frame where Prospero is a former CEO of a pharmaceutical company that his brother, Antonio, stole from him. Prospero, with the Ariel’s help, uses his “magic” to control not only the beings that are living in the isolated place where he was sent in exile, but also to plot revenge on his brother.
The set is divided in three main elements:
The sewer, where Prospero and Miranda built their shack which exploded because of Prospero’s experiments. This element is characterized also by the sewer pipe where Caliban lives.
The platforms, where all the other characters move and interact and where Ariel exercise his magic.
The suspended pool in which the shipwreck takes place.

The island is characterized by three gigantic abandoned billboards that remind to Prospero his former status and the platforms that enlighten whenever the characters move on them.
